Nutmeg Publishing: A Four Year Journey
Date
Sep. 2018 - May 2022
Location
Storrs, CT
During my time at the University of Connecticut, I dedicated four years to Nutmeg Publishing, UConn’s student-funded yearbook that has been in print since 1915. My journey began as a Staff Photographer, evolving into a leadership role as Photography Editor-in-Chief for two years. These roles provided me with the opportunity to document UConn’s vibrant campus life - from high-energy spring and fall concerts to historic moments like a presidential visit from President Joe Biden and countless iconic UConn Athletics events.
In my EIC role, I led a team of 8 student photographers, ensuring the seamless capture of UConn’s many events, balancing the fast-paced demands of event coverage, and maintaining the artistic integrity of yearbook storytelling through photos. These years honed my skills in event photography, team leadership, and visual storytelling, solidifying my passion for capturing moments that resonate with a community for years to come.
